About us
Bradford Queer Film Festival is an annual, weekend-long celebration of LGBTQIA+ storytelling on screen plus a year long programme of cinema events.
Across traditional and unexpected venues we combine food, workshops, socials and film to create an inspiring and entertaining programme that puts LGBTQIA+ stories at the centre, forging community and creativity.
OUR VALUES
Creativity / Access/ Collaboration / Ambition / Quality
Creativity can empower and uplift and the power of storytelling can bring together communities. We create a programme that celebrates the creative contributions of LGBTQIA+ creatives and filmmakers to bring people together and encourage a new generation of filmmakers.
Film should be for and so we have a zero tolerance policy on providing the best access possible. Bradford Queer Film Festival seeks out and collaborates with venues that have wheelchair access including wheelchair accessible bathrooms as standard. We incorporate BSL into our events and talks and provide free tickets for carers and assistants.
We are more than the sum of our parts and Bradford Queer Film Festival is made possible through innovative and meaningful collaboration. We are proud to work with partners and venues who share our values and believe that by working together we can create meaningful and impactful experiences.
We embrace classics, cult, hidden and new film to present an ambitious and high quality programme that works with state of the art venues and sector leading partners. Being a film festival in the UNESCO City of Film we strive to deliver excellence in our programme, event management and marketing.
